Gae Polisner is a young adult and women’s fiction writer whose second YA novel The Summer of Letting Go releases March 25, 2014. In 1995, she set out to write a book, not knowing if she actually could; since then Gae has completed at least five full manuscripts.
Polisner’s first piece of women’s fiction, The Jetty, was a Top Semifinalist in Amazon‘s 2008 Breakthrough Novel Award contest. Swim Back to Me, her second women’s fiction effort is being revised and will hopefully be released in the near future.
Her first young adult novel, The Pull of Gravity was published in 2011 and was highly reviewed. Kirkus Review said it was a blend of Steinbeck and Star Wars with a touch of magical realism. Booklist says, “Polisner’s first novel begins with a bang and ends with another. . . . There is a great deal to enjoy throughout, and literary kids will surely enjoy a subplot involving John Steinbeck.”
Polisner lives and writes on Long Island with her two amazing boys, her husband who sings, and two very "enthusiastic" cockatiels, Taha and Bobo. When not writing, she is still a practicing family law attorney/mediator, and when not doing that, she’s typically swimming in her pool or, better yet, the open water off of Long Island.
