Matthew Batt is the author of Sugarhouse, a nonfiction account of renovating a Salt Lake City crack house--and his life along with it. He's the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the McKnight Foundation. His work has been featured in the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor, the Huffington Post, and elsewhere.
Batt teaches creative writing at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota and has lately been finishing work on a collection of essays and a novel set in Milwaukee.
