At various times, Claudia Turner has been an athlete, teacher, scientist and now, a writer. Turner earned a B.S. from Bates College, an M.S. from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University.
After retiring from the pharmaceutical industry, she moved to Boston to attend classes at Grub Street and pursue her lifelong dream of writing. Scars and Stripes Forever is her first novel. It represents a culmination of her training in research, her baby boomer roots and her desire to spin a suspenseful yarn.
A Kirkus review of the book called it thought-provoking and entertaining "for readers seeking a somber yet probing inquiry into the limits of romance, duty and renewal late in life.”
Turner currently lives in Massachusetts with her partner, Luanne, where, in addition to working on the sequel to Scars and Stripes Forever, she jogs, golfs, travels, hikes, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, including her chocolate lab, Coco Larue.
