Susan Gloss is the author of the novel Vintage, published by William Morrow/HarperCollins in 2014. The novel centers on three women whose lives intersect at a vintage clothing store in Madison, Wisconsin. The book has been described as, "an engaging story that beautifully captures the essence of women’s friendship and love.”
Gloss notes that getting Vintage published was not a quick process. “I revised and rewrote the manuscript on and off for another eighteen months on my own before I signed with a literary agent. Once I began working with my agent, she and I went through two more rounds of revisions before shopping it around to publishers."
"After the book sold to HarperCollins," Gloss continues, "my editor and I went through even more revisions before the book was published in 2014. So when I add up the time from when I first came up with the idea to when the book appeared on book store shelves, it totals about 4 years!”
Gloss is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she majored in English and Spanish, and the University of Wisconsin Law School. She lives on Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin, with her optimistic husband, young son, and neurotic hound dog. When she's not writing fiction or toddler wrangling, Gloss can be found working as an attorney, heading an online vintage shop at Cleverly Curated, or seeking inspiration for her blog, GlossingOverIt, found on her website.
