2016 Book Festival Author

Freesia McKee is part of a collective of incarcerated and free writers who are collaborating through poetry. She has co-facilitated a writing class, visited prisons to perform poetry, collected books for prison libraries, and coordinated letter-writing programs. The newest issue of cream city review, where Freesia volunteers, is called "The Other Side of the Mirror" and features a folio of writing about incarceration.

Freesia's poetry and prose has appeared in Burdock, Verse Wisconsin, Painted Bride Quarterly, Huffington Post, The Boiler Journal, the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, and other venues. She volunteers with People's Books Cooperative.
