2016 Book Festival Author

Laurel Bastian is a writer and educator. She founded, coordinated, and taught with the Writers in Prisons Project, a program offering writing and humanities classes at Oakhill Correctional Institution, from 2007 to 2012. Laurel has also worked extensively on social justice issues, most recently as a staff member of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council, focusing on education around and enforcement of the Fair Housing Law. She currently teaches communication with the Wisconsin School of Business at UW-Madison.
