2016 Book Festival Author

Linnea Garcia grew up in Evanston, IL, and attended Lawrence University. She graduated Lawrence in 2015 with a degree in clarinet performance, but her love of creative writing has lasted a lifetime.

Linnea developed a love of writing at an early age. She started to write novels at the age of 10 and writing poetry in middle school. She won the first and third prize Jo-Anne Hirshfield Memorial Poetry Award in 2007, and her poem "The Chapel at Sunset" was published in the Lawrence University literary magazine Tropos in 2011. The Healing Pool is her first published novel.

Linnea has appeared at book talks and book signings in Wisconsin at Lawrence University, Kaukauna Public Library, and the Appleton Public Library. She has also done a creative writing workshop and book talk at Nichols Middle School in Evanston, IL.
