Separating Fact From Fiction

When we think of some of our favorite books, for one reason or another the stories resonate and stick with us. Why is that? For example, in his novel “The DaVinci Code”, Dan Brown presents a series of facts supporting the theory that the Holy Grail was not a chalice, but was in fact Mary Magdalene. How much is fact, and how much is fiction?
