Imaginary Stories – Real World Inspiration

Building a story that will transport the reader requires both imagination and real-world inspiration. In this presentation, young adult author Shannon Schuren will talk about her debut novel, The Virtue of Sin, and the inspiration behind it—a visit to Estero, FL and the remains of the Koreshan utopian community. She will also discuss the challenges involved in world-building and revision, and share how some real-world settings informed the book.
