De’Shawn L. Ewing is poet and spoken word performer with a loyal following. He utilizes his gift of words to touch hearts and minds around the state of Wisconsin and other cities in the United States. Among his poetic accomplishments, He has performed on program with the legendary Last Poets and several other regional and national artists, he has represented Milwaukee in regional and national poetry slams. He has also taught writing and expression workshops throughout the city and state. He has also appeared on artist panels to discuss poetry and its impact of society. He has been known to “transfix with a deliberate, yet rhythmically pleasing delivery”.

He has been known to relate a truthful and accurate message that reaches both youth and adults, using a blend of humor, emotion, seriousness and light-heartedness. De’Shawn has also taken time to work with and educate adults on the importance of partnering to accomplish change and action in our community through the spoken and written word.
