Awake Island – An Outdoor Adventure for Everyone

The presentation will include several readings from the book that highlight characters and their development within the story. Murphy will also discuss several components of writing including developing characters, managing characters and sequencing.  Murphy will introduce the intrinsic motivation of her characters and what inspires them, emotionally defining their perspective. Her characters make mistakes, take risks, fail, question themselves and triumph.  She will dive further into the writing process by discussing how to manage characters and grow with them as their story develops. Lastly, Murphy will discuss actions and sequencing and her method of integrating multiple activities and locations in a logical sequence.
