In this talk, Christina Sweeney-Baird will give you practical tips on how to get started writing your first novel, how to edit, find an agent and navigate the publishing process, as she tells you about her own process of getting published. She’ll also discuss the tips she’s found work best for fitting writing in around a busy job, suggest ways of tracking your writing progress and talk through one of the biggest issues for any aspiring novelist: time! She works full-time in London as a corporate lawyer alongside her writing. Her debut novel, The End of Men, was published by GP Putnam and Sons in April 2021 and is being translated into 16 languages. Her essays have also been published in The Guardian and The Independent.
